Managing partners of Varela Music, LLC are Deva & Frank Varela. Joining forces to bring together a blend of musical talent, teaching experience and business savvy they have begun their journey by starting up the music workshop they have envisioned for so long during their 24 years together.

Frank Varela attended Berklee School of Music and has been a private music instructor throughout the life of his career. He has also taught as a lecturer at the University of Connecticut and Manchester Community College in addition to his after school guitar program for the South Windsor Recreation Department. 

Frank is also an accomplished guitar player and composer. His work has been reviewed in nationally renowned “Jazz Improv” Magazine and he has played and composed music for six published CD recordings as well as his solo DVD entitled Rare Footage where he plays guitar and bass simultaneously.

Deva Varela is a graduate of the Connecticut School of Finance and Management and has been working as a manager in the financial industry for over 10 years.  She is also a musician. Deva was classically trained and studied voice, euphonium, guitar and flute.  She has performed at many venues throughout New England as a jazz vocalist (and blues harmonica player) and recently produced a recording entitled So Real   that featured some of her own original materials and employed performances by local musicians and music instructors in the area as well.

Deva and Frank also have a son, Lucian Varela. Lucian plays drums and sings in the futuristic hip hop band, Future Sounds.  He is currently enrolled in the music program at Central Connecticut State University.
